Designer Sunglasses in Houston

Wearing sunglasses may seem like more of a fashion choice than anything, but did you know that wearing the right sunglasses can actually help you protect your eye health and your eyesight? Sunglasses can help protect your eyes from bright light and glare, but with lenses that are 100% UV protected, they can also protect your eyes from damage as well. Here at West U Vision we can provide you with eye exams, vision screenings and with designer sunglasses in Houston.

The sun can be quite dangerous, especially when it is particularly bright and hot. The sun tends to be more of an issue in the summertime when the warm weather often means exposed skin. Sun exposure when it comes to skin can be dangerous, too, and most people know that sun exposure can lead to sunburn, skin damage over the years, and an increased risk for cancer as well. Much of the same can be said for your eyes as well. Overexposure to UV rays can lead to sunburns on the eyes, and repeated exposure increases the risk of other conditions such as wrinkles, dark spots, and skin cancer. In order to protect your eyes from this sort of damage, all year round, it helps to wear sunglasses that are fitted with 100% UV protected lenses. Here at West U Vision, we can test your vision, update any prescription needs you have, and help you find the perfect frames. We carry plenty of brand names if you happen to be interested in designer sunglasses in Houston specifically, and we carry brands like Armani, Bebe, Boss, Coach, Dior, Dolce & Gabbana, Nike Eyewear, Polo, Prada, Ralph Lauren, Ray-Ban, Versace, and much more.

If you don’t have UV protected sunglasses, then you should definitely consider investing in a pair. Whether you need prescription or nonprescription designer sunglasses in Houston, visit us here at West U Vision for all of your eyewear needs.

Houston Vision Care

Are you looking for an excellent vision care practice where you and members of your family will be able to receive comprehensive eye exams? If this is the case, you will want to make an appointment to come see one of our fine optometrists at our practice, West U Vision. We are very pleased to have two expert therapeutic optometrists on staff who are not only able to provide you and your family with comprehensive eye exams but they are also able to treat many different eye problems as they arise. When you need the very best Houston vision care we hope you will make an appointment to see us at our vision practice.

At our eye care practice we have two expert and highly experienced therapeutic optometrists on staff. They are Dr. Christine Castillo and Dr. MH Rockoff. Conjunctivitis is a common eye infection that is highly contagious. If your child’s eyes become red and possibly crusty you will want to bring him or her in to see our optometrist for treatment. If you are due for a comprehensive eye exam, it is very important that you have this performed in order to make sure that your eyes do not have any eye diseases or disorders. Many eye diseases, such as glaucoma, do not show any symptoms in the early stages. However, this does not mean that glaucoma is not currently doing damage to your eyes; it can even be permanently damaging your eyes without your even knowing it. This is but one reason why it is very important to come to us for periodic Houston vision care in the form of comprehensive eye exams.

Our eye exams are very thorough. During the first part of our eye exam your eyes will be thoroughly checked for any kinds of refractive error is including nearsightedness, farsightedness or astigmatism. If it is determined that you have a refractive vision problem our optometrist will be able to write a lens prescription for you which will have you seeing clearly once again. You will then receive medicated drops in your eyes which will cause your eyes to dilate so that the interior of your eye can be examined, including the retina, macula and blood vessels surrounding the retina. During our eye exam your eyes will be screened for a wide variety of vision problems including: glaucoma; cataracts; macular degeneration; diabetic retinopathy; retinal tears; and of the problems of the cornea, macula and retina. If you would like to see one of our therapeutic optometrists for Houston vision care, contact us today.
