We are known to provide some of the finest eye care in Houston. Our on-staff optometrists are Dr. Christine Castillo and Dr. MH Rockoff. Both of our fine optometrists are able to treat a range of eye problems, as well as provide thorough eye exams and contact lens exams and fittings.

When patients come to West U Vision for eye care in Houston, our entire staff makes sure that they put our patient at ease by providing a welcoming and stress-free environment. Our eye doctor is thorough and caring – when you leave our practice after an eye exam you will know that your eyes are being well taken care of. At the beginning of our eye exam our optometrist will check your eyes for any refractive vision problems. If it is determined that you are nearsighted, farsighted, or have astigmatism, our optometrist will be able to write an eyeglass or contact lens prescription that will easily correct the problem. As part of our eye exam you will be screened for many different eye diseases and disorders. Among the eye problems that we screen for are: glaucoma; cataracts; macular degeneration; diabetic retinopathy; retinal tears; and other problems of the cornea, retina and macula. Many eye problems show no early signs, making it even more important to have regular eye exams on a periodic basis. For example, if glaucoma is diagnosed while in the early stages our optometrist will be able to provide treatment so that it does not progress and cause any vision loss. However, if vision damage has already occurred, it will not be able to be fixed. In more advanced cases laser surgery can be performed to help keep glaucoma from progressing. Unfortunately, treatment of glaucoma currently only focuses on preventing further progression, not in restoring vision. If you would like to have a comprehensive eye exam by our well-trained eye doctor, contact us today.
